Below are the steps I suggest in order to get the most from this lesson:
- Get a copy of the planned story in Afrikaans and English. If you are able to get the movie in Afrikaans and English it is even better.
- Watch the movie in Afrikaans and English and read the story in Afrikaans and English.
- Identify some new words (vocabulary) and find the meanings of the words.
- Draw pictures and descriptions about the story to assess understanding of the story.
- Write a comprehension test to make sure you understand.
Enjoy and be amazed how many new words your child has learned.
I will be posting my version of Jack and the Beanstalk in Afrikaans and English very soon.
Have a great day!

Never heard this version. Like this more than the one I know – no violence. What a change.
